Welcome back! Okay, So I have a question for you. Do you have an area in your home that sticks out as an eye sore? Yeah me too…even though my home is brand new and I love most everything about it, there is this one hideous big square on the wall going up into our bonus room that “hides” our AC Unit.

What in the world? I can’t stand this thing!

Luckily I love trying to think outside of the box and disguise areas I don’t find attractive. My bonus room is eventually going to be a play room/reading nook for my family and I was thinking of ways I can turn this big ugly square into something cute and unique for that space.

As I was rocking my daughter in the middle of the night one night, (Thats when I do my best thinking) the idea of a chalk board hit me!! Thinking about the square, I knew it already had trim around it, and if I painted it with chalk board paint I thought it would look “built in”. Needless to say, off to Lowe’s I went.

I picked up a can of black chalkboard paint Which you can find here and just a regular paint brush like this one!! I also grabbed this adorable box wood wreath to finish it off with! 2 coats of paint and about 30 minutes later, I turned this big eyesore into a space I actually enjoy walking past!

I’m kind of obsessed with how it turned out

I love the timeless and simple look of black & white with greenery! I could also write a Bible verse, or seasonal sayings if I would rather go that route to add character! Either way, I loved how this added something fun and different to an otherwise boring area!

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope this gives you a little inspiration if you happen to have a spot like this in your house!
